A resume builder that respects the person writing it
WriterCV is a resume and cover letter builder for people who would rather spend their evening on the work than on the formatting. We built it because the usual options ask you to hand your professional history to a company you have never heard of, and then sell advertising against it.
What you can do with it
The free plan is the whole editor. Pro adds the parts that are expensive to run, and it does not take anything away from the free tier.
A builder that stays in your browser
You write, edit and preview your resume locally. A large part of the product never reaches our servers, so we never receive it and cannot lose it.
Exports you actually own
Download to PDF, DOCX, Markdown or JSON. No watermark, no export fee on the free plan, and the files are yours to keep.
Templates that read well
A small set of deliberately chosen layouts, each one designed to stay legible in print and to survive an applicant tracking system.
An ATS checker that tells you why
See which parts of your resume a machine will struggle to read, and what to change. The check runs in your browser, including reading the PDF you pick.
A public link when you want one
Share a resume with a single link, track who opens it, add a password if it should not be public, and unpublish whenever you like.
AI that only runs when you ask
Review, tailoring and interview practice send content to a model provider only when you start them. Your documents are not used to train anything.
Interview practice out loud
Practise answers with voice, get feedback on structure and clarity, and keep your practice history next to the role you are aiming at.
Open to translation
Every string in the product is translated by the community. Adding a language is a pull request away, and you can help review one.
What we will not do
Every privacy policy makes promises. These four are the ones we built the product around, and they are the reason a small tool can stay independent.
No advertising, ever
There is no advertising network, no behavioural advertising, and no third-party analytics or session replay. There is no revenue stream from your attention.
We do not sell your information
Your documents are personal information. We do not sell them, and we do not share them with employers, recruiters, or job boards for their own purposes.
You can leave with everything
Export or delete your entire account and all associated data whenever you want, without asking us and without writing to support.
Built to be checked
Every privacy claim on this page is tied to how the product is built: browser-first editing, no analytics, and data that stays yours unless you choose to share it.
Who is behind it
WriterCV is a small, independent project. There is no venture funding behind it and no growth team optimising for engagement, which means the roadmap is decided by what people ask for and by what can be built without compromising the privacy promises above.
